Welcome to my Backyard Chicken Blog!

Hey, Y’all! I’m Carol, a crazy chicken lady. I’m also a wife, mother, blogger, and recently a children’s picture book author.  I’m not a vet or chicken expert by any means, but I’ve learned a lot from raising chickens. 

So, why did I decide to start a blog?

I talk to everyone about our chickens (friends, family, even strangers), so I thought what better way to share my knowledge than through a blog.

Knowledge is power. The more we know the better we are. If I can share one tip that helps you then I’ve met my goal.

What will I be sharing in my backyard chicken blog?

First and foremost, how to take care of backyard chickens, the problems we’ve had and how we’ve dealt with them, plus some simple recipes.

Since getting chickens, we added two livestock guardian dogs to help protect them and now my husband, who I loving refer to as the Bearded Rooster, has bees.  I’ll post about these from time to time also. 

About me 

I’m a city girl with country roots. My parents grew up in a small town in rural Oklahoma and their love for family, gardening, and all things country are embedded in my DNA. I  live in the Dallas area with my husband and four kids.
